Hello! I'm Lucy, thanks for stopping by!
I am a professional, mature, dedicated, trustworthy, loyal lover of dogs. Based in Chichester, West Sussex.
My obsession with dogs I believe started the day I was born, and I have intentionally surrounded myself with dogs ever since - From our own various loving family dogs growing up (and despite their looks in these photos, they loved it!) - to always finding myself being followed by the strays on my overseas travels & signing up to 'Borrow My Doggy' when living in New Zealand to get my pup-fix!
Having been the go-to dog sitter within my family and for my friends for a few years now, after a somewhat turbulent year, I decided to press pause on my successful Recruitment career and follow my heart to find my happy - and my happy is dogs!
I realise the industry is flooded with people like me, and I don't claim to be a fully qualified professional (yet!) - I do this because I love it, they say 'if you follow your passion, it will lead to your purpose' and it's taken me too long to realise this.
I know how hard it is to put your trust in someone to look after your dog - You want to ensure they're in the safe and loving care of someone who 'gets it' - To find someone you feel comfortable enough to leave your dog with while you go out for a few hours longer than normal.
Since the pandemic, with more people needing to go back to the office or maybe finally taking that long overdue holiday, it's not just dogs with separation anxiety - and this is where I come in!
Every dog & their owners are different, theres no 'one size fits all' approach to the care I provide - You can trust that I will listen to you and your dogs needs, no judgement if you think they're spoiled, no shame if they're not always well-behaved!
I'm working on my qualifications to ensure I keep my knowledge relevant and appropriate, in order to provide the best professional care I can.
Well, everyone has one - While I have no dogs of my own now, I had a troubled reactive rescue pup who gave me so much more insight into dogs behaviours, needs and responses. I thought I knew dogs, but this was nothing like I ever imagined. I did endless hours of research, spent an obscene amount of money and sacrificed my health, work and relationships to do everything I possibly could. The help I received from local trainers & behaviourists was fantastic, this made me want to pursue working my way towards this becoming a full time career.
The end of my story unfortunately wasn't a happy one, the traumatic experience I had with my very first own dog was sadly not one that I ever envisaged, and one I will never forget. It's taken me a long time to heal but once again, the love from other dogs has been the best healer. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, now I want to help others by being that someone they can rely on to ensure their dogs have everything they need while their owners are away.
